The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Movie Novel | |

Way back in 1980, when the Rocky Horror Picture Show was celebrating it's fifth anniversary, there came about 'The Official Rocky Horror Picture Show Movie NovelTM', Edited by Richar J. Anobile who pioneered this kind of presentation. The book takes hundreds of still frames from the actual movie and adds the soundtrack as text. Rather than just an image and text, a lot of work has gone into the book to try and capture the feel of the movie. The book is given an introduction by Sal Piro and he looks forwards to the 80's! The movie novel runs to over two hundred pages in all. Sadly the book is no longer in print, making it one of the most sought after Rocky Horror collectors items yet produced. Sal has been quoted in the past as saying that when the books first appeared many people would buy several copies to cut up just to turn the pictures into badges! Should you ever see a copy in your local second hand book shop, buy it quick, there are very few copies still left. A pity really as it is not only great fun to read, but also very useful for getting makeup and costumes right for those of you into Performing Casts/Audience Participation. ISBN 0-89104-180-X - original price $6.95 (That's about £4.60!). Expect to pay upwards of £30 for a copy now. |
