Message: Howdy all, I saw rocky horror show in manchester on friday at the 6:30 showing, had never seen it live before, and, all i can say is WOW!!! it blew me away, the quality of it all, and i have to agree with person below, the bed scene was great, it wa great acting too how the actors moved in it and it felt like watching it from above, serious kudos on that scene.
also, there was a guy there who was a mega fan, had a jacket with loads of badges on it, he was brilliant and from him i have learnt a few back lines to shout next time i see it (hopefully i'm gonna get last minuite tickets to the liverpool showing - touch wood)
anyhoo, it was great... nuff sed

Message: Went to see Rocky Horror on Friday in Manchester, it was the first time ive seen it at the theatre, but i love the film.
I think it was the best thing i have ever seen, so much better than the film.
Loved the singin and dancing, and the audience participation, but the only thing i knew was to shout out Slut and Arsehole wen Janet and Brads name was said, thats it Crazy
Im trying to pursuade my friends to go to the next one, but not having any luck...
I wanna dress more daring next time, maybe as Frank Rolls on the Floor Laughing
Keep up the good work everyone who was involved with the show, actors, band, set designers everyone.

Message: OOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
bromley was ok but manchester was fab-u-las!!!!!
The two shows were completly different to what im used to as i have been following the tour around the country i am getting the chance to see all the understudies (except lyndon cause nathen wont have time off) perform in the main roles.
In bromley it was the chance for stuart, claire and sarah to take on riff raff magenta and columbia
then yesterday in manchester because ian is still poorly ( get well soon we miss u ) and julien was poorly too stuart took on very bravley the role of rocky and kevin the asm was an amazing riff raff.
I have also seen stuart do brad and matthew do frank.
So 3 cheers to the understudies and all the cast and crew for doing a great job!!!!
see u all in the west end on the 4th!!!

Message: Went to the show last night in Manchester – this is the first time I have been on anything other than the last night and I was stunned at the lack of people dressed up.
Did think the bed scene was great – made a welcome change from the silhouette approach, but what were the ladders all about?
I thought Frank was really good – probably the best singing voice I have heard (this was my 7th visit in the last 14 years). We had a great time (as usual) – may have been something to do with the fact that we had gone to town on the costumes and loads of people came and asked for photo's and a chat about what to expect – I almost felt like one of the cast!!
When the show returns to Manchester will it always be at the Opera House? I miss the old Palace days with the great pub next door – it isn't the same going to Walkabout – especially when it is crammed with loads of drunken football supporters – who were fortunately in a good mood – not sure I would have got my husband out alive if England had lost!!
Congratulations to the cast, crew and band.
Keep Rocky alive.
Kiss

Message: went to see the manchester show this evening [recon mission ready for saturday] the set is probably 1 of the best i've seen since the 21st tour, vocally great. not sure about the accent they've given frank though. really enjoyed the show overall, it was really different 2 c it with so many of the call-backs closed down, having only ever seen the show with the call backs, and knowing it almost word 4 word, it kinda threw me a bit with the changes in the script. i completely understand where they were coming from with their reasons for the changes and it adds a whole new dimention to the show for those of us who have only seen it over the last decade or so, a glimpse of how it may have been 33yrs ago maybe?

Message: Can't remember who said this - "there were some people in the front row shouting stupid coments at him and he even got a little annoyed at one point" - Tues 30th May
I think you are referring to me and my friend....I think this because we were in the front row in Newcastle on the 30th
May and we were shouting. Indeed, we were pretty much the only people in the audience doing any shout outs. I'm sorry if we got on anyone's nerves - we were just trying to have a laugh and make the show more enjoyable for everyone (we even got a few handshakes during the interval/at the end from some people around us). Incidently, I would like to point out that we only did the well known shout outs that i've heard at rocky several times before (we're not that original!) and when we spoke to Ian Lavender after the show, he actually thanked us for adding in the audience participation. Not trying to start an argument, just wanted to put my point across. Once again, apologies if anyone in the audience found us irritating.

Message: Re - Wimbledon Theatre. I myself must apologize for the email as rereading it, I too came across a little heavy handed. I know also of people caught out that night by another agent other than the one you mention and taking it out on the staff. The staff there do indeed do a great job and I have fond memories of the place over the years of Rocky. Apologizes. Love

TWW: I agree, never take it out on the front of house staff, they don't have much to do with bookings and times. Do always write a polite letter to the theatre management or booking agents to point out that a problem such as this happened as it helps them to ensure it doesn't occur again.

Message: Listern Dave and Steph.
Check your facts before slagging off Wimbledon Theatre. The theatre has ALWAYS had this time of 20.30pm stated on their tickets if you brought from them. May I suggest that you brought from a theatre agent such as LAST MINUTE.COM who screwed up the times of BOTH shows that day...

The Usherette

TWW: Thank you. I would have liked to send you a personal reply, but as you left neither a name or an email address I'll have to do it via this page.

I wasn't intending to 'slag off' Wimbledon Theatre itself, if it came across as such then I apologise. I happen to like the theatre and the helpful staff it employs, especially as it is the first place I ever saw RHS back on the Hanley tour. In fact they kindly let us in at 8.40pm even though the show had already started.

Your suggestion that I bought my tickets from a theatre agent is correct. I bought them from Ticketmaster back in November. Ticketmaster are of course the company that Wimbledon Theatre uses for it's online booking service linked from their own web pages. We were not the only ones with tickets that showed the start time as 8.45pm for the Saturday show, we spoke to at least six people on the night with the same time printed on their tickets. So then somewhere there was a lack of communication as far as some of the online sales were concerned, as you pointed out at least one more online company also had the wrong times printed.

I think the lesson to learn is always check the start times of the shows nearer the night itself, we'll certainly be double checking in future.

Message: Went to see the show on the 12th May at Birmingham... .What a fantastic show... I went to see it in 1995 when Robin Cousins played Frank. I was a R/H Virgin then, so didn't know what to expect. After seeing the clip of Richard o'Brien on the officical Web page, I was wondering how "BACK TO BASICS" the show had been taken. I was amazed at all the simple touches that made a HUGE impact on the show, especially the bedroom scence (Won't spoil it for you all) as for David Badella, he was great as Frank. All in all, it was the best experience ever... and now I am no longer a Rocky Horror Virgin, I happily dressed up (see the pic on the fan site) and join in with the Audience participation (including a few lines of my own that got a round of applause). All I can say is those of you that haven't been yet, GO AND SEE IT.
