I've updated this page with a comparison between the UK and USA versions. Released on the 30th September, 2025 from legendary photographer Mick Rock this is an amazing collection of images taken on the set of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. If you have a copy of Mick's previous Rocky Horror book you will recognise many of the images, but there are plenty of unseen ones in there to make this a must have purchase for Rocky fans. The book isn't just images though, there are many interviews and quotes from both the stars of the movie and celebrity fans. There are loads of interesting titbits of information in these interviews and it's nice to hear the different perspectives of the show and film that they describe. Included is a little timeline for the show/movie, but they seem to have the movie premiere date as the USA one only (September 26th, 1975) when in fact the world premiere was in the UK on the 14th August that year. Includes a foreword by Richard O'Brien The hardback version main cover and spine have some red metallic detailing on and the book itself is on nice quality matt paper. A must for every fan of the movie.
UK Version Release date September 30th, 2025 256 pages 203mm x 22mm x 232mm ISBN 978-1-399-73577-3 Published by Hodder & Stoughton Limited USA Version Release date September/October, 2025 256 pages 203mm x 20mm x 232mm ISBN 978-0-06-338568-9 Published by Harper Pop, an Imprint of Harper Collins Publishers Comparison between UK and USA versions. So, we got out (UK) copy a few weeks before release and then when the book came out people in the UK and USA were saying they looked different. We've now got a USA version to so here is a comparison between the two versions. The main difference is the USA version comes in a slip cover, whereas the UK one doesn't. The only change in the content is the USA has a different publishing credits page. If you spot any other differences let us know.
So, which version is better? Short answer neither, and both. The USA version comes with more goodies in presentation, you get a slip cover and a set of stickers. The UK version is on thicker, better paper and I much prefer the content look in the UK book. Buy both versions! |
